Ditto Bank is a new generation French bank with global ambition that offers a unique multi-currency model. Ditto Bank holds its own banking license and manages to combine the reliability of a bank with the flexibility of a Fintech. Designed for those who need access to multiple currencies on a regular basis (frequent travellers, expatriates, online shoppers, etc…), Ditto Bank customers can use their app to open current accounts in different currencies, manage their money, make transfers and complete foreign exchange transactions, all from a mobile app created for and with the customer, who always remains at the centre of a seamless experience.
An international card
Ditto Bank also offers an international MasterCard Gold card allowing customers to make payments all over the world at no extra cost. Today, Ditto Bank is the only bank that customers can carry with them wherever they go. In a break from tradition, Ditto Bank re-defines banking relationships in order to make its customers’ life easier.
A disruptive founder
Sylvain Pignet, the CEO of Ditto Bank, is a true entrepreneur and passionate about new technologies. Firstly as a lawyer, then as Company Secretary of Travelex Group, he has been involved in the creation and development of many innovation products: currency pre-paid card, « e-wallets », payment services and foreign exchange in all its forms. Sylvain has been living between the UK and France for 20 years so he truly understands the needs of Ditto Bank customers. He came up with the idea of creating Ditto Bank in 2011 to challenge a lack of transparency in traditional banking offers and to address the market fragmentation. Four years later, Ditto Bank came to fruition as a start-up incubated within the Travelex Group. Sylvain Pignet believes that the banking world needs to change dramatically to survive in a society that values transparency and tailor-made services.
« Ditto », because the service is the same everywhere
The word ‘Ditto’ comes from Latin and means ‘the same’. All Ditto Bank customers have the same easy access to banking products and services, no matter the currencies involved. ‘Ditto’ because we want to offer the same premium services to all our customers. ‘Ditto’ because all our customers have the same needs and Ditto Bank provides a unique, global answer to help them make payments abroad, pay for their tuition fees during a university exchange program or bring back memories of their travels. In each case, the objective is to help dealing with different currencies.
A cosmopolitan team of experts in a start-up mode
From the very start of the project (the first employee joined in July 2015), the team has doubled in size every 4 months. Today, there are no less than 100 experienced employees developing and perfecting a banking offer that has been available to its first customers for the last 6 months. Coming from within the banking and payments industry, Ditto Bank employees are sharing their past experience and most of them have personally experienced some issues with currency exchanges, whilst working abroad for example.
